Your permit, your DOT medical card, and the theory you need to pass. Coached by Michael, who still drives for a living.
Talk through where you are and whether Cabwright fits. No pressure.
The road in
Federal ELDT rules set the order. Here's every stop between you and your CDL, and where Cabwright rides along.
Pass your state's knowledge tests and hold your Commercial Learner's Permit at least 14 days before the skills test.
Cabwright: coaching + test prepA physical with an examiner on FMCSA's National Registry. You need it before your CDL can be issued.
Cabwright: we walk you through itTheory and behind-the-wheel training with a provider listed on FMCSA's Training Provider Registry.
Cabwright: study prep + provider handoffPre-trip, basic control, on-road driving. Get your CDL, then pick your first carrier with real pay numbers.
Cabwright: coaching through your first jobCabwright is coaching and exam prep only. It is not an ELDT theory provider and does not report ELDT completions. You complete ELDT theory and behind-the-wheel training with a Registry-listed provider.
What's included
One coaching package. No upsell chapters, nothing held back behind a second paywall.
Book a call first→Not included, because they're paid to others: state permit and licensing fees, your DOT physical, your ELDT theory provider, and behind-the-wheel tuition.
Real pay numbers
Plenty of sites quote "starter pay" that's off by 100x. These are first-year figures from the carriers' own pages, converted to weekly.
Sanity check: the Bureau of Labor Statistics puts the median for all heavy truck drivers at $58,640/yr (≈ $1,128/wk). Figures read October 15, 2026, and vary by division, fleet and miles.

Your coach
Michael still drives. He coaches new drivers the way he wishes someone had coached him: the real sequence, the real numbers, and the paperwork nobody warns you about until you're standing at the counter.
"If we can't source it, we label it or leave it out."
He films his own gauges airing up to teach the air-brake numbers. The pay figures come from the carriers and the BLS, with the disagreements left in.
If the prep course doesn't cover all five areas of the federal ELDT theory curriculum, you get your money back in full. It doesn't promise ELDT credit, a job, a salary or a timeline. Anyone who guarantees you a seat is selling you something.
Straight answers
Still have questions? Bring them to the call.
No. ELDT theory can be done online with a Registry-listed provider, but behind-the-wheel training happens in person and the skills test is in a real truck. Cabwright preps you and coaches the whole sequence.
The 12-lesson prep course, six live 1-hour Zoom calls, permit coaching, the DOT medical walkthrough, the behind-the-wheel handoff, carrier coaching and email access to Michael.
No. Cabwright is coaching and exam prep. ELDT completions only count when reported by a provider listed on FMCSA's Training Provider Registry.
Then you start further down the road. Your coaching picks up from wherever you are.
You tell Michael where you are, what's in your way, and what you want. He tells you straight whether Cabwright fits, and what your next steps are either way.
